What you'll do:  

  • Design and develop control systems across various project phases, including Concept to Client handover.
  • Manage project compliance with Australian Standards and organizational policies.
  • Provide innovative solutions, technical support, and mentoring for peers and junior engineers.
  • Specialize in process and manufacturing safety automation systems, including control philosophy development.
  • Implement and troubleshoot industrial PLC/RTU/HMI & SCADA systems across multiple platforms like Siemens, Rockwell, and Schneider Electric.
  • Develop and document Functional Design Specifications, control standards, and FAT/SAT plans.

What you'll need:  

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in the industry/environment.
  • Enthusiasm for the role and a commitment to continual improvement and business growth.
  • Innovative thinking and approach to commercial and technical aspects of project delivery.
  • Experience with common industrial control systems, including: Siemens, Rockwell or Schneider Electric
  • Experience with industrial networking and cybersecurity.
  • Proven track record of delivering large industrial automation projects.
  • Experience in a technical leadership position.


Nice to have:

  • Design, implement, and certify process and machine safety systems to IEC 61508 / IEC 61511 / AS 4024 standards.
  • Audit, specify, and implement industrial networking infrastructure to ISA / IEC 62443 standards.
  • Develop terminal automation systems and terminal integration.
  • Integrate systems for renewable energy, including grid control for DERs.
  • Conduct custom interface development and general automation R&D/product evaluation.

What you'll do: 

  

  • Provide clear direction to the Control Systems team, managing the team’s performance and driving capability development through individual development plans, coaching and mentoring;  
  • Individually and through the team, contribute to product development, production readiness, launch support and product sustainment projects;  
  • Actively support company Intellectual Property (IP) initiatives.  


What you'll need:    


  • Bachelors or Master's Degree in Electronic, Mechatronic or Engine Calibration Engineering;  
  • 10 years or more extensive embedded software and electronic hardware skills for electronic engine control applications
  • Leadership: Previous experience successfully leading a team;  
  • Ability to develop design solutions in an environment governed by regulatory standards  
  • Commercial awareness, including experience in procurement and supplier selection  
  • Ability to manage suppliers, handle multiple priorities, detailed work, reasoning, deadlines 

 

Nice to have:    


  • Experience with aerospace/defence standards for software and system development.
