Electrical Technician

We are looking for a skilled Electrical Technician to join the team in Sydney, Australia.

What you will do:

  • Build prototypes, and sub-assemblies, and prepare feasibility test units and samples.
  • Conduct repairs and reworks of PCBAs and cable harnesses/assemblies.
  • Utilize drawings, diagrams, and layouts to conduct testing, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Procure and source electrical components.
  • Fabricate special test equipment, electronic test boxes, and harnesses.
  • Perform harness builds and circuit board electronic modifications, such as component rework, soldering, and de-soldering of electronic components.
  • Set up and utilize standard test equipment, including oscilloscopes, power analyzers, power supplies, and digital multimeters.

What you will need:

  • Proficient in fine-pitch soldering.
  • Experience in electrical components and connectors using basic hand tools and crimping equipment.
  • Proficient in reading complex schematics and test procedures.
  • Strong understanding of PCBs, PCBAs, prototyping, and assembly techniques.
  • Experience in building and troubleshooting prototype electro-mechanical hardware, including PCBAs, cables, connectors, wiring harnesses, and assemblies.
  • Experience in electrical test equipment such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, and function generators.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a prototype/engineering development lab environment.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with task management and documentation software such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • Experience with electrical CAD tools such as Altium, Rapid Harness, or other EWIS software.
  • Knowledge of J-STD / IPC-A-610 / IPC-A-620 / IPC 7711 standards.
  • Experience in drones.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. unassisted.
