About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Electrical Engineering, you’ll contribute to the design, development, testing, and troubleshooting of digital and analogue electronics for both external and implantable medical devices.
This position suits an engineer with a passion for product development and an interest in how hardware, firmware, and software integrate in real-world applications. You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary engineering team working on life-changing technology.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop hardware and firmware for active implantable medical products and supporting test equipment
• Conduct design verification activities, including protocol and report writing
• Participate in design reviews and document development work in accordance with quality and regulatory standards
• Identify and implement improvements to engineering processes, testing, and development practices
• Communicate progress, challenges, and risks effectively to project managers and stakeholders
About You
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic, or Computer Engineering
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and datasheets
• Working knowledge of analogue circuit design and SPICE simulation
• Some experience with embedded programming (C) and higher-level languages (Python, C#)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated with strong time management and collaborative skills
• Comfortable working in a regulated, process-driven environment
Desirable Skills
• Experience with medical device, electronics, automotive, semiconductor, or aerospace development
• Familiarity with medical device standards (ISO 13485, IEC 60601-1, IEC 62304, etc.)
• PCB design experience with Altium or similar tools
• Exposure to control systems, digital signal processing, or neurophysiology
• Experience developing or maintaining verification/production test systems
