Electronic Hardware Engineer

We need someone with a true passion for electronic hardware engineering who is eager to innovate and develop new products.

The company is located in Melbourne, Victoria.

What you'll do:

  • Review customer specifications and refining these to prepare a detailed specification
  • Complete design of electronic schematic capture, component selection, and PCB layout
  • Ensuring PCB and hardware design compliance with appropriate railway standards for electronics
  • Perform tests as per the verification and validation plan
  • Hands-on assembly and testing of concept designs and prototype assemblies
  • Prepare documentation for internal and customer requirements

What you'll need:

  • Have at least 5 years of professional electronic design experience
  • Experience in designing for safety-critical systems will be highly regarded
  • Be competent in analogue and high-speed digital design
  • Have extensive experience with Altium schematic capture, PCB layout, BOM, Gerber, etc
  • Good knowledge of Altium library management and version control.
  • Familiar with hardware testing, debugging and fault finding, technical support and quality assurance
  • Exposure to through hole, surface mount, BGA, and fine pitch components including high speed logic, microcontrollers, and FPGAs
  • Hardware manufacturing, component level test, and functional test experience
  • Demonstrate advanced documentation skills
  • Software development experience is an advantage
  • Experience working in a Systems Engineering (SE) environment
  • Exposure to high power switch-mode power supplies and power control devices is an advantage
