Senior Electronics Design Engineer – Fixed Term Contract

Job Location: Sydney, New South Wales

Senior Electronics Design Engineer

Sydney | 12-Month Fixed Term Contract

This is not a generalist engineering role.

This is for engineers who design, build, and own complex electronic systems.

You’ll be working on highly regulated, implantable technology where failure isn’t tolerated and engineering decisions have direct real-world impact.

If you’re someone who operates comfortably across hardware, systems, and real-world constraints, this is where your work actually matters.

The Opportunity

You’ll join a specialised engineering environment developing next-generation electronic systems used in advanced medical applications.

This is a hands-on, technically demanding role. You will contribute directly to the design, development, and verification of complex electronic subsystems, working across both component and system level.

You’ll work closely with internal teams and external development partners, influencing key technical decisions across the product lifecycle.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Design and develop electronic subsystems for advanced devices
  • Take technical ownership within your domain while contributing at system level
  • Develop and review requirements, specifications, and design documentation
  • Participate in schematic, layout, firmware, and system-level design reviews
  • Support external partners in development and integration
  • Troubleshoot complex issues through debugging and root cause analysis
  • Communicate technical decisions, risks, and trade-offs clearly
  • Support verification and validation, including test development and analysis
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing teams
  • Ensure designs meet strict safety, reliability, and regulatory standards

What You Bring

You need depth. Not surface-level exposure.

Strong expertise in AT LEAST TWO of the following:

RF / Wireless Systems

  • Bluetooth or RF system design and integration
  • Antenna, EMC, and coexistence considerations
  • Exposure to compliance and regulatory testing

PCB Design & Layout

  • Multi-layer PCB design and schematic capture
  • Mixed-signal, low-noise, or RF-sensitive layouts
  • Design for manufacturability and test

Embedded Firmware

  • Strong embedded C programming
  • Experience with low-power or safety-critical systems
  • Hardware-software integration and debugging

Mixed-Signal ASICs

  • Experience with analog / mixed-signal ASICs
  • Understanding of signal integrity, data conversion, and power management
  • Experience working with ASIC vendors or design houses

Nice to Have

  • Analog electronics and simulation (SPICE, LTspice)
  • Programming beyond embedded (Python, C#)
  • Control systems, DSP, or related domains
  • Experience with FMEA and test method validation
  • Background in regulated environments (ISO 13485, IEC 62304)

Why This Role

  • High level of technical ownership
  • Work on complex, real-world systems
  • Exposure across the full product lifecycle
  • Collaborative, cross-functional engineering environment

Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Location: Sydney, New South Wales

Product Development | Precision Electromechanical Systems

Not a maintenance design role.

This is a product engineering role inside a team that designs precision electromechanical systems used in high-reliability equipment deployed globally.

You will be joining a specialised engineering group working across mechanical, electronic, optical and magnetic technologies to design hardware that must perform consistently in real-world environments. These are physical products. Built, tested, iterated, and shipped worldwide.

The role is based in Sydney, NSW.

Why engineers like working here

• Work on real products, not theoretical designs
• Collaborate with experienced multidisciplinary engineers
• Opportunity to design systems that integrate mechanics, electronics and sensing technologies
• See your designs go from concept → prototype → production

What you’ll be doing

• Design and develop new mechanical systems for production hardware
• Improve and optimise existing product designs already deployed globally
• Create 3D models and detailed drawings in SolidWorks
• Prototype and test design concepts to validate performance and reliability
• Investigate product performance issues and implement design improvements
• Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical for production
• Develop engineering documentation including change notes and component approvals
• Collaborate with electronics, quality and manufacturing teams across the product lifecycle
• Provide technical input on mechanical design queries when required

What you’ll need

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Strong experience using SolidWorks for 3D modelling and mechanical design
• Experience designing mechanical components for production products
• Understanding of mechanical integration with electronic systems
• Experience with injection moulded components and production design

Nice to have

• Experience setting up SolidWorks PDM environments or managing design data migration

Important

This role is open only to candidates currently based in Australia with full working rights.
