Project Engineer – Electrical

Job Location: Melbourne, Victoria

Ready to lead Urban power projects that light up entire communities?

We’re hiring an Electrical Project Engineer to join a fast-paced team delivering cutting-edge solutions in Urban power distribution, public lighting, and communication infrastructure.

Based in Melbourne, this full-time role offers hands-on involvement across the full project lifecycle from concept through to compliance and delivery.

What's in it for you:

• Work on a diverse portfolio of Urban electrical and communication projects including substations, overhead/underground distribution, and lighting systems
• Join a team where your input matters. Work directly with stakeholders, clients, and project managers
• Flexibility with partial remote work - optional WFH every Wednesday
• Grow your profile with projects aligned to AS/NZS standards and exposure to NER, BLA, and utility-based delivery

What you'll do:

• Lead and deliver detailed design packages for Urban distribution-level projects (11kV, 22kV), both overhead and underground
• Manage timelines, ensure compliance, and liaise with clients and authorities as required
• Support project submissions including Building Line Applications (BLA) within Victorian regulations
• Deliver designs for Urban electrical and communication systems including public lighting and NBN-related works

What you'll need

• At least 2–3 years of design experience in the Victorian URD (Underground Residential Distribution) sector
• At least 2–3 years of experience in designing HV (High Voltage) and LV (Low Voltage) systems within Victorian power distribution networks
• Must be able to provide a portfolio or list of residential or commercial developments you have designed
• In-depth knowledge of technical standards from Powercor, AusNet, UE (United Energy), and Jemena
• Must be capable of independently managing the design process - from Masterplan stage through to Stage Design and final Approved Designs - with minimal supervision
• Must be comfortable working closely with Project Managers
• Sound knowledge of AS/NZS standards and industry practices
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience managing projects and working in client-facing environments
• Registration on the NER (or very close to being listed)
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar

Ready to hit the ground running?

If you’re a practical engineer who thrives on autonomy and wants to shape Urban projects from day one, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now and bring your expertise to a team that values both precision and initiative.
