This is an excellent opportunity for an RF Engineer who enjoys taking ownership of designs from concept through to testing and production, while working on cutting-edge technology in a collaborative engineering environment.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design and simulate RF and microwave hardware from component level through to module level
  • Develop and optimise electrical and electronic hardware designs balancing performance, cost, and manufacturability
  • Collaborate closely with RF, mechanical, production, and project engineering teams
  • Create and maintain accurate design documentation, schematics, BOMs, and manufacturing records
  • Support prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and product validation activities
  • Conduct design verification and compliance testing, including EMI/EMC requirements
  • Perform environmental and reliability testing of products and systems
  • Develop detailed test plans, procedures, and technical reports
  • Manage test schedules and support product qualification activities
  • Design test fixtures, jigs, and supporting test software where required
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and manufacturing

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 2-5 years of experience designing RF or microwave hardware products
  • Strong understanding of RF and microwave engineering principles
  • Experience with PCB design and layout techniques
  • Proven experience using Altium Designer
  • Experience using RF simulation and design tools such as ADS, Genesys, or similar
  • Hands-on experience with RF test equipment including:
    • Vector Network Analysers (VNA)
    • Spectrum Analysers
    • Power Meters
    • Signal Generators
  • Strong understanding of analogue and electronic circuit design
  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC design practices and mitigation techniques
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Highly Regarded

  • Experience in satellite communications systems
  • Experience designing defence, aerospace, or high-reliability electronic systems
  • Familiarity with environmental qualification and reliability testing
  • Experience developing automated test systems or test software
  • Exposure to system-level electronic architecture and product development

Security Requirements

Due to the nature of the projects, applicants must be eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Australian Citizens are strongly encouraged to apply.
