Job Location: Australind, South Australia
This is not your typical process engineering role.
You’ll be at the heart of a next-generation technology that transforms biomass into biochar and renewable heat — helping businesses decarbonise and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. You’ll take the lead in designing and refining high-temperature, carbon-negative systems that have a direct impact on climate and resource efficiency.
If you’re a seasoned engineer who thrives in hands-on environments and wants your work to matter, this is your chance to help scale real climate solutions.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own the process design, optimisation, and scale-up of pyrolysis systems for commercial deployment.
- Work across biomass feedstocks, combustion and energy recovery stages, turning waste into valuable products
- Lead commissioning, troubleshoot field issues, and work closely with controls and mechanical teams.
- Translate technical data into decisions that improve performance, cut emissions, and reduce waste.
- Deliver improvements in system yield, thermal efficiency, and sustainability outcomes.
What You Bring
- 10+ years in process engineering, ideally in pyrolysis, gasification, combustion, or thermal systems.
- Strong grasp of chemical and thermal process design, instrumentation, and control principles.
- Experience across pilot and commercial plant commissioning, optimisation, and scaling.
- High attention to safety, compliance, and real-world performance.
- Engineering degree (Chemical, Process, Mechanical, or similar); postgrad or project management a plus.
Why This Role?
- Be a key player in carbon-negative tech with real global potential.
- Work across lab, test, and field environments — no two days are the same.
- Join a team that values technical excellence, sustainability, and practical innovation.
