Location: Melbourne, Victoria

What you'll do:

• Design custom mechanical systems including stainless platforms, conveyors, and sheet metal structures
• Attend client sites (1 - 2 times per week) to take measurements and clarify design requirements
• Use Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks to create detailed drawings and BOMs\
• Collaborate closely with workshop and engineering teams to see your designs through to fabrication
• Apply Australian Standards in your design process and ensure practical, buildable outcomes

What you'll need:

• 3+ years in mechanical design - preferably in stainless steel, conveyors, or sheet metal
• Experience in designing equipment for the food industry is ideal, but not required
• Practical background - trade qualifications or mechanical fitter experience highly regarded
• Strong CAD proficiency (Inventor, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks)
• Good communication skills and the ability to work directly with clients and engineers
• A hands-on, team-focused attitude and ability to work mostly on-site (with potential for WFH down the track)
