With a powerhouse team of 400 researchers, engineers, and students working across three dynamic location—the team is developing hardware architectures and systems-on-chip that will redefine efficiency, security, and agility. Current projects include groundbreaking work in encrypted computation (Trebuchet), reconfigurable RF processors (TRACER), and cutting-edge FPGA EDA tools for hardware assurance.

This team is searching for a Transformational Computer Engineering Researcher to lead pioneering research in developing new hardware solutions for critical national issues. In this role, you’ll be part of a collaborative team, designing advanced computer architectures, creating prototypes, and shaping the future of technology. You’ll work on high-impact projects funded by top-tier organizations like DARPA, IARPA, and the CHIPS Act, with access to world-class resources such as MOSIS 2.0 and the California DREAMS superhub.


What You’ll Do:

  • Lead transformational research in computer hardware design and development
  • Collaborate with an elite team of engineers, scientists, and researchers
  • Prototype revolutionary hardware architectures and systems-on-chip
  • Shape new ideas into successful research proposals
  • Work on high-impact projects sponsored by DARPA, IARPA, and more

What You Bring:

  • PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Expertise in computer hardware design (Verilog/System Verilog/VHDL)
  • Experience with system modeling (Python, C++, or similar)
  • Proven track record of high-quality publications

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with FPGA-based development and EDA tools
  • Proficiency in proposal writing
  • Understanding of non-von Neumann computing approaches
